Our Small USV is an industrial marine drone platform capable of integrating all industry standard sensors. The unit weighs 60lbs and can carry 20lbs of custom payload. The 2.5kW electric motor powering the unit is speedy but can smoothly sustain 4knts when operating sonar.

The robot carries an industrial computer on board that can network with standard junction boxes and communications systems, including SatCom. The data collection platform can be outfitted for Line of Sight (LOS) or Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.

Standard units include:

  • HereLink+ transmission system, Orange Cube flight controller, Here3 GPS, and ArduPilot Mission Planner as a GCS.

  • Transom can mount a variety of sensors depending on your needs

    • The platform is flexible and is outfitted for your use case

    • Cameras, sonars, current profilers, DVLs, pH meters, DO meters, etc

  • 24V, 23Ah LiFePO4 heavy duty batteries

  • All units include a protective case for shipping and storage

360 video

At SWL Robotics we feel strongly about the possibilities 360 video brings. We believe it gives the viewer the choice to watch what they think is important in the video, not what the director thinks is important.

You can use the individual videos for traditional 16:9 video or you can stitch all streams for a 360 video. Your choice! Our cameras record at 1080p60 for extra smooth video or great slow-mo scenes.

We need a computer on board to process all that video. That means our marine drone can carry sensors and record data as an option. It operates on Windows just like your laptop. You can download data or video by USB3.0 connection.


Carbon fiber construction

We make our Carbon Fiber shells out of the same material as the world’s best super cars and airplanes.

Carbon Fiber’s lightweight and incredible strength allow us to put more on board capabilities than a similar sized marine robot.

We make our shells using resin transfer infusion so waste in the process is close to nothing. We consider efficient use of resources in everything we do.

Safe for the environment no matter where you operate

Our patented propulsion design takes traditional marine propulsion and flips it upside down. With no thruster or propellers in the water our craft can operate in as little as 3” of water. This makes it the perfect vehicle to operate in shallow areas.

The design also uses some principles of thrust vectoring. As soon as you start to turn the craft in any direction its forward motion is slowed. Thrust is directed to where you need it to be. Our drone can literally do 360 degree turns in place. This allows it to operate in tight places like canals or fish farms ponds or tanks.

This also means that we will never hurt a manatee or any other marine life. In autonomous or long range operation it can be difficult to avoid objects that you cannot see under you. Since our drone is completely flat, it will never collide with or injure with any marine species.
